Message from the President

For those of us in rural health, we are so practiced at dual roles or wearing multiple hats that it has become second nature for us. I believe this ability is one of the secrets to the success of NYSARH, as our Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse group of hard working leaders and professionals who share a common vision and mission. Recognizing the importance of having diverse and statewide representation, NYSARH is pleased to announce it is soliciting nominations for members of the Board of Directors for the term beginning at the annual meeting in September 2005 through September 2008.

The Nominating Committee will release the qualifications, application, and process information in a separate e-newsletter in early June. I encourage any NYSARH member that is willing and able to commit a portion of his or her time to lead efforts to preserve and improve the health and human services in rural New York State to apply for nomination to the Board of Directors. The work is challenging, the hours can be long, but the rewards are invaluable. Are you up to the challenge or do you know someone who is?

I understand that springtime is especially hectic as we strive to complete our current work while getting organized for the fall so that summer vacation can truly be a time for R&R. Nonetheless, I hope that you will take the time to consider volunteering for the NYSARH Board of Directors.

Yours Truly,
Jackie
