NYSARH Delegation Delivers Message to Washington

The New York State delegation to the National Rural Health Association’s 2005 Policy Institute met with several members of the state’s congressional delegation in March. NYSARH representatives discussed the need to support full funding for Federal rural heath programming.

The group pointed out that many of the rural health programs that the President has zeroed out are “on-line” throughout rural New York State and are having a positive affect on access to health care. The Critical Access Hospital Program and the HRSA Office of Rural Health Policy Network Development and Outreach grants were among the several programs that were discussed with congressional staffers.

Ten NYSARH members were among the over 400 rural health advocates that attended this year’s National Rural Health Association Policy Institute.
